Constitución Street
Calle Constitución, located in the heart of the Historic Center, is often described as having all the ages of Mazatlán, as it is lined with buildings that represent different eras of the port's history. The street showcases a contrast of modernist lines in the former Bank of Mexico building near Paseo Olas Altas, but the prevailing style is the tropical neoclassical that characterizes the port, with 19th-century estates, many of which are semi-destroyed but still retaining their architectural grandeur.
Past and present of the port intersect on this street.
It is a lively thoroughfare in Old Mazatlán, particularly between Heriberto Frías and Carnaval streets, right in front of Plazuela Machado. Here, you'll find the building that housed the Benito Juárez Commercial Club, a private club famous for its parties. Today, the action is on its ground floor, where some of the most popular restaurants in the area are located. This particular stretch of the street is closed to vehicular traffic on weekends, allowing space for tables and pedestrians alike.
