Pacifico Beer

Pacifico Beer

At the beginning of the 20th century, Cervecería del Pacífico announced the opening of its brewery by its partners Melcher’s, Emilio Philippi, Jorge Claussen, J. Schuelhe, German Evers, Alejandro Loubet, Federico Marburg, and Carlos Bolken, who made a contribution to the society of 22,500 pesos.

They formalized the articles of incorporation, number 44, notarized by Francisco G. Alcalde, a lawyer and public notary of those times. The initial investment was 300,000 pesos, with which they acquired the most modern machinery of their time in the United States, producing 175,000 liters and 26,000 crates monthly.

This was undoubtedly a landmark event that set the standard for the brewing industry in the port and introduced a Pilsner beer to the market, a fresh, bottled, high-quality beer that has since become ingrained in the preferences of the people of Sinaloa. During that time, a box of 12 beers cost 2 pesos and 10 centavos, and a 12-bottle carton was sold for 1 peso and 50 centavos.
The original building quickly expanded to border Parque Zaragoza. The factory employed ten men, and in no time, they opened a warehouse for wholesale and retail sales. Currently, this Mexican beer is part of the Grupo Modelo beer family since June 29, 2012, for an amount close to 20 million dollars. The Belgian-based beer group owns well-known brands such as Budweiser and Corona. It's worth noting that Corona, in the United States, is owned by Constellation Brands.
